Ignition coil (aftermarket tach wiring)

I got a 5" shiftlight lying around from an old car (5L Mustang) andI wanna try hooking it up. I don't plan on mounting the tachanywhere but just the shiftlight between the steering. The tachI will hide somewhere.

Anywho, the instruction for the tach's wires are:

White: 12V DashRed: 12V IgnitionBlack: GroundGreen: Negative on ignition coil

I looked in the FSM and on the Ignition coil there is twoharnesses. One harness only has one wire; Black (which isnegative). And the other harness has two wires: Light Green w/Black stripe and Black with Red stripe

I can hook the 12V Ignition to any 12V power source right? Andam I to use the Black ground wire from the one-wire harness thatis in the FSM?
