Since everything is now broken in and whatnot and the T28 is on the car, I set the boost to 12psi and I am starting to get on it hard now. I noticed once I hit roughly 5500 rpms under full boost I get some ignition breakup. I am still running the NGK 6ES plugs (gapped at .030") from when I put the motor in. My AFR is still 10:1 under heavy load. I really need to get a good tune on the car. Ignition maps and fuel maps are still stock, I just expanded them to deal with the higher boost/airflow amounts. The injectors/maf are still well within their limits. I am really thinking it may be the spark plugs. I don't know if I need to switch to the 7ES plugs or close the gap to .028" on the 6ES'. Other than the hiccup I get in the upper RPMs, she pulls pretty hard

I would just check and clean the plugs because they are more than likely a tad bit fouled; especially if you are running a 10:1 AFR. You can go to 7s with the NGKs, but the 6s are just fine and so is your .030 gap.

I think Dee nailed it. Those 6's should be fine, and if you're at 10:1 AFR, it's gonna foul those plugs up quick. Lean that thing out meng!!!

10:1 seems a little rich! What is the common range for the factory setup? I was curious because i want to run all my EVAP stuff.

you may be getting a little spark blowout either clean the plugs or regap them at 28 but 30 should be fine...

Ok, so today I get on it to make sure the problem isn't intermittent. I kept an eye out the sideview mirror and yep, as soon as the breakup occurs, puffs of black smoke come pouring out the exhaust. I am going to replace the plugs and see what happens. Also, I really need to fix my tune and get my boost leaks under control.
