Ignition assembly locked up. What can I do?

When I went out the other day to move my car into the garage the key wouldn't turn the ignition switch over. So I took off the column covers and removed the actual switch and started the car but now the steering is locked. It looks like the lock buton is stuck in but I can't get it to come oback out. Does anyone know how to remove the assembly so I can at least work on my car?

The steering is locked because of the safety switch. I tried to wiggle it while turning the key. There is something wrong with the tumblers and no I am not a complete dumbass. When I got the car the key would come out while in on and accesory. Why do people automatically assume that everone is inferior or just plain stupid when they ask a question anymore?

dont drive the car with the switch out as wheel could lock up at random.

if the tumblers are locked up , it is cheaper to by a new assembly for around 115 from rock auto. take the assembly off per tutorial if you want to drive car. that way you wont lock up while driving. its pretty easy to remove

It's fine, I just need to get it movable to put my new autozone muffler on.
