That orange colour is an actual orange lens on the switch itself. I removed the whole assembly and took it apart and found out not only do you need to BREAK the clips on the assembly (no other way) to get into it, you also cant clip the damn thing back on. therefore i now have a non-working drivers side heated seat switch. I have to get a new assembly for it to hold the wires in again since my clips are broken. So the switch is tehre, looks fine, but doesnt work. Woohoo. and i cut my finger.

dont bother guys.

good news tho, i ordered my blue dash led's those will be easy as ive taken it apart before.....unless they send me the wrong size then ill be MAD

heres the pics from my attempt to document for a tutorial. epic fail.ull see in the last pic me shining my phones camera light into the switch and seeing the orange lens glow. BTW the bulb is a tiny incandescent.

sorry guys. I will have more projects tho in the months to come and hopefully i can keep contributing!

dammit. I WANT BLUE LED's THERE. I was so pissed. maybe if I take another look at that lens theres a film or something i can get rid of. Or i could just make my own damn switches with a cooler look. I dunno wtf to do LOL for now i just want to find a replacement assembly and get it back to normal. good thing its getting warmer out and i wont need heated seats for a while

im not even going to bother for that, id rather leave no lights there as it is now than deal with blue and green stylin' in that general area. And im not going to tackle the 4wd switch either since it looks like itll result in the same outcome. You dont live in canada. you have no idea how great heated seats are!

Off topic: I saw you were looking for wheels/tires for around 1200, I called wheelsdirectonline.com recently, and their were a couple of styles, dont think chrome as I didnt ask, that they were gonna do like $1400.00 mounted and balanced and shipped for me. I must say thats pretty good, so might wanna try that if your in the market. Just trying to help.

The correct technical term isn't "heated seats", it's "bun warmers". ;-)Or maybe "Canuk Cookers" ;-) No insult intended.

I'm surprised the clip broke. When I took my dash apart, I pulled too hard and the faceplate/switch part of the switch stayed with the panel while the rest of it stayed attached to the wiring harness. Once I popped the front part out of the dash panel, it snapped right back together.

The hardest part was figuring out which way the slider went back into the housing.
