Ive always loved the interior of the 01+ version so much more, mainly that wood trim around the gearshift. I dont know if anyone has done it but Im looking into swapping mine with it. I know the "wood" colour is different than pre-01's but I will be painting my radio bezel trim and maybe swapping out the windows switches if i can to the 01+ version (doubtful so id just paint those). Im thinking either brushed aluminum or gloss black paint for those and maybe even paint the center trim around the gearshift to match. I just hate the trim the 97-00's have! Heres some pics so you guys know what Im talking about

The O1.

My 00 (99.5...whatever)

PS....NO i will not trade up to an 01+ ive maintained my 2000 too well the last 85,000kms to just give it up. Its my first real car and i dont want to get rid of it no matter how much nicer the 01+'s are...besides...who doesnt love a project.

here is a link to the part i want to get...http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAP...AX:IT

If anyone can give me any measurements or pics of their consoles taken out id really appreciate it. My obstacles seem to be my curved gear shift (newer ones are flat) so i dont know where i could find that, and that "wall" on the right side.

Sorry, I don't think it's going to work. The pre-01 gear shifter assembly is wider than the +01s. Also the pre-01s have harsher angles around the emergency brake whereas the +01s are more smoothed out.

I'll go take some measurements for you though.

thanks guys, probably the most helpful thing would be a pic of the trim piece removed to see what it looks like under there..maybe ill hunt down a shifter from an 01? that would fix the curved section issue

yeah but its better the dull black plastic than a completely different colour wood trim. The reason i cant use the radio bezel from the 01+ is because its completely different! so id just get a cheap 00 pathfinder bezel with the electronic 4wd switch, paint it a gloss black to match the car, then sell my wood grain one. But it doesnt look like the center console will fit from the 01+ due to the contours around the ebrake as mentioned.

Maybe ill just get vinyl fake brushed aluminum and f*** with that, it did a great job on my xbox

It's only $40. Buy it, try it out. If it doenst fit, sell it on craigslist.

Dude just get a trim kit from NYC Dashes. The first thing I did when I bought my Q was put in a dash kit to match the brushed aluminum around the shifter. I got the entended kit to go around the map lights, door speakers, a/c vents and door handles.

thats an awesome site but theres only the factory match wood grain and it looks gay on my centre console. I just want the countours of the newer center console and the newer shifter if possible, if not ill buy a big roll of vinyl brushed aluminum and have some fun
