I'd put on all of my regular stuff (watch, bracelets, wallet, necklace, and phone) grab my iPod, my Xbox HDD, my PS2 memory cards, my laptop bag, my Chuck hi tops, my shift knobs, and as many important documents as I can find in the remaining minute or two.

Having to evacute because of a wildfire is not fun at all. :frown:

If i had only 5 minutes, I'd grab my laptop, a few pictures that I find rather important to me, pets, grab a suitcase and cram in as much clothes in it as possible.

Come to think of it, I forgot about my mother, my dog, and my cats.

All five minutes would be taken up by trying to round up my cat. He's skiddish as fu*k for a housecat...

Leave the door propped open. Smoke rises. He'll crawl to the clear air.

My cats would be horrible to round up. One of them would be pretty easy. The other two would leave marks on me. I wouldn't even bother with cages. I'd wrap them up in a towel and throw them in the front seat with my mom.

The cats would be my biggest worry because both of our girls would literally risk their lives in order to drag the cats out from under a bed.

A quick update: the winds have died down so the battle against the blaze continues. So far, the humans are winning. Still no deaths or loss of homes.
