What would you suggest in the way of changes or additions to your G37.

I'd like to see more colors. There seem to be too many colors in the silver to gray range. Not that they are bad, but an off- red metallic paint on a G37 would be a heart stopper. Even a jade green metallic would be pretty. And, factory chrome wheels, with a nice unique to the G37 19" 5 spoke design.

Add your comments to this and maybe, who knows, Infiniti might stop by and read it.

I’d like to see getting back some of the rear head and leg room I had in my G35 coupe. I could never understand why, when the new car is a bit bigger, there is less room in the rear.

I would also like to see deleting the moonroof feature from the premium package and making it a separate option. I never use the thing but wanted the rest of the premium package. I’m sure I would have had more headroom without it.

And although I accept the premise of not manually inputting destinations while moving (I think the improved voice command system in the G37 works quite well for that), I would like to see some way of selecting different albums from the music box while driving. I’ve got over 25 albums loaded in mine so far, but cannot get to any specific CD while driving unless I flip through the control button up to 300 times (Talk about taking your eyes off the road)!

I'm with you on what you're thinking, but to be realistic, that would require a much larger engine or a turbo. I think I would have suggested maybe sacrificing some of the high rev ability to tune for a bit more lower end torque.

400hp will be needed to compete with the Camaro/Charger/etc that will be released next year.

Well I don't mind the current HP, dropping the weight of course would make it significantly faster

The windshield wiper switch is a poor desgin because to wipe once requires the control to be moved back and forth from the current setting.

For example, if it's set on a long delay wipe it has to moved up to wipe once setting and then back to the delay setting. In my Lexus Coupe the control lever is pulled once for each wipe or held for the desired number of wipes.

To spray and wipe the windshield, a button in the end of the Lexus lever is pushed without changing the wipe setting.

I don't think the color selection falls on the engineers, but I could be wrong!

If I had the attention of an Infiniti engineer, I'd like them to look at my G37 and figure out what's wrong with my transmission ( I do have a post for that ).

After they looked at my car, I'd want to tell them to:

A) Add more torque!!!! B) Make the transmission beefierC) Make an all-wheel-drive version

One more complaint about the wipers.....

They could have designed a mono wiper like MB uses, I just noticed that when the wipers are running the passenger side wiper when vertical combined with the driverside wiper really restrict your view through the windscreen to the point of being annoying. The wide base of the arm with the bend in the pass side one takes up a lot of visual real estate.

1) Ability to do page-up and page-down for the i-pod searching instead of having to it the down button 5 times per page.

2) Slightly quicker shifting for the auto trans

3) Drop the front suspension down about .5 to .75 inches just to even the car out some.

4) Dont like the fog lights at all. Or at least make closer to the same color as the headlights.

(1) Introduce adjustable pedals (including the dead pedal) or move them a couple of inches toward the rear of the car. I am rather short (5' 7"). Even with the steering wheel all the way forward, and the seat back reclined quite far, I can barely reach the pedals when I am a reasonable distance from the steering wheel.

(2) Add up/down to the lumbar support adjustment. (Audi has this.) It has taken me quite a while to fine tune the lumbar support because it hits me too high on my back.

(3) The order on the headlight switch is Off/Auto/Park/Full. If you want to run the headlights yourself, you have to run through Auto every time you turn them on or off. Changing it to Auto/Off/Park/Full or Off/Park/Full/Auto would eliminate this without inconveniencing people who want to use Auto. My work around is to set the sensitivity so that the headlights always come on when I switch from Off to Auto.

(4) Perhaps reduce the sensitivity of the VDC system to slipping and sideways motion. Now that I have 2k on the car, I am beginning to drive it harder. The slip warning light comes on more often than I think is reasonable. Steering with the throttle doesn't mean you are out of control. My next step is some careful experimentation with VDC turned off to see if it is oversensitive or if I am pushing harder than I realize.

(5) Improve brake pedal feel by increasing the effort required and reducing travel. This is a taut sports coupe, not a spongey luxury sedan. In a Porsche Cayman, the pedal barely moves.

It has plenty of HP... it badly needs ft/lb's though... another 40-50 at least.

Sport model should have Higher compression /direct injection (worth 15-20% boost in HP/torque) more lift and duration on the cams, freer flowing metallic cats +13hp... That should put it at about 400+ hp / 300tq. Then shed about 100lbs (lighter wheels/ tires/ some aluminum) and it should run low 13's at about 110mph. - Wider front footprint - less understeer/more grip/ better look- revisions for more road feel in the steering for the S-model- loader deeper exhaust without a drone at highway speeds- more aggressive front treatment- Quad exhaust outlets for the S-model- less dead cat space - (thats the space between the top of the tire and the wheel well)- less intrustive seat bottom bolsters - firmer feeling lumbar support (kind of spongy/balooney feeling)- sportier rim design- something other than the chromey grill

I would bet that these changes would focus the car considerably and it would make it the performance choice for the segment.

I know we haven’t posted in this thread for over a week, but something that should be changed for next year recently came up.

First, let me say that I support the nav restrictions that do not allow manual inputs while driving. There’s a valid safety feature involved here, and I find voice recognition inputs on the G37 while moving work just as well and are actually faster. But when I was stuck in traffic on the 101 on Saturday, going bumper to bumper, the traffic alert (via XM) info screen accurately described the trouble up ahead, except the screen said “Traffic congestion from Coldwater to…..” To where? I would have had to come to a complete stop for about 5 seconds to have the “down” screen icon appear to read the rest of the message. I tried three times but never was able to come to a complete stop long enough to bring up that icon that would tell me how far the congestion existed.

Infiniti Engineers listen up: I see no safety compromise if you just upgraded the system to allow a quick hit of the down button (at the 180 degree position) on the center controller to get full traffic alert messages while moving.
