....would you buy a Prius? That's the median cost for a 2014 Toyota Prius, depending on which model you buy (there are 5 this year). So, I ask you, what ELSE would you spend that kind of dough on? A down payment on a C5? Lots of Datsuns? Dead hookers and beer? ;)

I agree with the tuition. I just got my bill for Block One of Nursing school. I need a scholarship.

A good chunk to student loans and other matters. The rest would purchase another car while the Lexus is down.

I have my eye on speed3's though! ;)

Bex, the auto transmission made me super bored on the highway, and I rear-ended a porsche. The plan is to sell and pick up an 03 G sedan 6 speed.

Coilovers, 2 way Diff, bucket seats, japan trip, some on the stock market, and rest saved in the bank. Oh and maybe a rebuild turbo kit for the KA.

No, absolutely not, and since I've been a good boy and paid all my education and debts and am well in the black nowadays it would be $26,765 straight into wheels, full suspension, widebody and interior for the fairlady. :bigthumb:

+1 for tuition. Believe it or not, that covers about a semester for a (non-ivy league) private university here in the northeast.

PUT IT ALL ON BLACK!

Just kidding, I'd need that money.
That much cash would probably be spent on a house down payment or paying off a chunk of my loans and putting the remainder in my retirement fund.

Dead hookers are only good as transmission replacements. I'll take some live ones if you don't mind...

I am ashamed to admit that we did consider purchasing a new Prius before buying the Sorento. It was a very brief consideration, but I just couldn't bring myself to even drive one. It was hard to ignore when I was doing research though because the Prius V got at minimum 20mpg more than anything else we were looking at. Thankfully we already had a gas guzzler though, so anything was an improvement.

Put it into my sons future college fund and laugh at other Prius drivers as I blow by in the Skyline spewing hydrocarbon and NOX even though I still get 20+ mpg..

I would put it towards one of the few family friendly cars I'm watching on ebay.

The prius still uses old school NiMH batteries, not even old Li-ion tech that's been out for a while , let alone some of the more advanced tech like Silicon oxycarbide. Battery cost is a factor though.

I can't imagine spending that kind of money on ANY new car, but I'd DAMN sure not spend it on a midsize family hauler--hybrid or otherwise. If I were buying a new car, I'd need to be rich and have five to ten times as much.

$27k will buy a HELL of a lot of used V8 RWD luxury goodness and maybe even a third pedal to go with it.

The mostly likely investment of $27k instead of a Prius for my stable? One of these:

Whoa, an entire BS for ~$28k?

After tuition, school of engineering gratuity (course fees) of ~$50/hr, technology fees, and other tagged on fees, KU's $280/hr turns into about $360-375/hr.
128hrs * $360= $46k
28k sounds like a bargain!

That's the benefit of acquiring 75% of my education through the Community College system. The only "high-cost" classes are those from Northern Arizona University. My costs versus what a student would pay at ASU is $15K versus $45K and our graduation rate is better. :gapteeth:

Oh that helps a lot! I was able to transfer in 12-15hrs (english, chem, and 1 or 2 humanities) from a community college out of, well enough for an associates of arts. Since all of their electrical engineering classes are specific to that degree, nothing transfers in. If I was a business or some liberal arts major, I could have transferred in a lot more.

For 26,7k you're about 90% from getting a used Infiniti M56.

Hell, probably a hefty down payment on a C7. I don't know if you guys have seen them out west yet but they are really good looking driving around.

I dunno. The C7 kinda reminds me of Kim Kardashian. It looks sexy from certain angles, but that rear end makes many guys cringe and say WTF. But regardless of 'dat azz, they'll still want to take it for a test ride.
