What would you send. I don’t know if they read here or not, but I assume someone at Infiniti might stop by occasionally. What would you like to suggest, request, insist on, etc., infuture Infinitis?

I would love to see jewel tone paint offered. Metallic reds, greens, bronze/copper and blues. With a mid brown interior colors. I’d be drooling over a metallic jade green G with a medium brown leather interior.

Oh, and chrome wheels instead of painted ones.

Mine would read:

Dear Penthouse, ... Echhhhmmm ((Clears throat))

I mean...

Dear Infiniti,I am thoroughly pleased with your high end sports sedan and your continual ability to build a world class car for the enthusiasts in the luxury class market. I am pleased to see that you are continuing in your pursuit of producing exhilerating performance vehichles by recently introducing the FX50 to the North American Market. As a Luxury sport automobile enthusiasts, I must know when you plan to integrate this 5.0 Liter V8 into the 2 door coupe G and the 4 door sedan G models? Your competitors have exceeded industry standards by building V8 powerplants that regularly produce 400 horsepower in their similarly classed vehichles to the G. Lexus and BMW have mass produced vehichles that simply out perform the Infiniti G series. As your highest volume delivered vehichle, you would certainly benefit from the accolades that would follow by giving the G the powerplant that it truly deserves and you would most definately secure the Infiniti name as a force to be reckoned with in the high performance luxury sedan marketplace.

Faithful consumer,Dave

P.S- can you also tell me why you spelled Infiniti with an I instead of a Y?

I would plead with them to come out with a "G" car that is on par with the M5...specifically HP output. Nissan/Infiniti needs to fill the gap between the GT-R and G37. Something with at least 400-450HP.

The newer M5/M6s has some 500 HP. The new M3s will have 416 or something like that.

Dear Nissan/Infiniti:

On behalf of the men who say they wear the pants, but in reality, their wives do, please... please... install a "wife" switch. The wife switch, when activacted, reduces horsepower to a measly 115HP, in line with any modern day "green" vehicle. The wife switch will also activate a dash mounted mirror so she doesn't adjust my rear view mirror and applies makeup while tooling around the shopping mall parking lots.

We wimpy men implore you to install this hidden device only known to the male species. This will save many parking lot incidents while the wives gossip to their friends on how we are saving the earth by having such a fuel-efficient vehicle.

Thank you for your time and consideration... "I-DO-wear-the-pants.com"

upon edit ... damned infinity / infiniti thing ... heh

I don't think many Infiniti people read our posts.

I talked to a couple of infiniti sales people and they thought I was crazy when I told them that the early VQ35DEs had oil consumption issues.

Dear Infiniti,

Please make my drive train sound more like a sports coupe and less like a train.

B/c Infinty speakers has been around longer than infiniti cars and they had that name trademarked....at least that's the most logical sounding answer i can think of...anybody know different?

Welll the G isn't in the same class as the M5..it's tied to the M3...so we'd need a 450 hp coupe car to keep up...hence the G50 rumored

In order to compete with the M5 we'd need a special performance version of the M45....

In anycase I don't really see an infiniti ever coming out to specifically battle any of the M cars until Infiniti gets their own in house performance division just as BMW has with their M Power division. They make cars to compete with the regular BMW 3series and 5series car b/c thats what sells the most. And on that level Infiniti is making a better value of a car

I think the huge I N F I N T I logo looks better with an "I" at the end. You have one at the beginning, dead-center, and the end.

I N F I N I T I

I N F I N I T Y

Personally...I just wiped that badge clean off my rear.

Dear Infiniti, Pls up the HP on the automatic transmission, 280 is not enough. Also upgrade the crappy Bose system in the Coupe... ...it sounds horrible. Also add some quality paint to the cars, they chip too damn much and the paint comes right off..

I agree with the paint. The Bose system however, you paid for crap to be completely honest (and IMO). The salesperson told me about the Bose system and I said no way, he asked why, and I asked him if he had ever heard a good Bose system in a car...his response? No. Bose car audio has never sounded good. Never. In any car. My non-Bose system, some people have asked if its aftermarket and I just laugh and ask if they're serious. Some day it will be aftermarket though.

I also go with the other responses of more HP, but also more TQ, too!!!

The Bose system in my 96 I30 sounded pristine. Great highs, awesome deep lows, and decent mids. I pissed many aftermarket guys off with that system. Changing HUs to a 97 made the system sound like crap.

The one in my mom's QX4 sounds like crap. The one in the G35 probably sounds like crap.

How about we go for lighterweight instead of more power? I'd like a 3k lbs G35 with a little more torque. I'm happy with the peak power.

I know, I can't deny my past growing up surrounded by big numbers like, 289, 302, 318, 327, 350, 351, 383, 426, 427, 428, 440, 455, 454, 455.....some good ole days!

I don't blame you. My mom had a 71 bumble bee Cuda that I wish we still had...that's a long story. I've always wanted a 69 Camaro and a 67 Mustang Fastback.

Back to Gs...weight does need to be reduced, especially the coupes. Also, I would ask for an explanation on just how the coupe is heavier than the sedan...unless someone here can explain that for me cuz I haven't quite figured that one out yet.

I believe that I read that the coupe is heavier because it doesn't have the piller between the two doors like a sedan has for added protection, so they had to put more reinforcement (weight) in the 1 door that the coupe has for safety.

A Nissan buff/friend of mine said that the coupe was heavier because they shoved 2 more seats into a 350Z and tried to keep the chasis somewhat rigid.

I would infer from that, that the Sedans are probably a little more flexible and therefore lighter.

I did notice for the first time earlier this week how heavy the damned door is. The one on my I30 is probably about a 1/3 of the weight of G door and mine won't stay open if I'm on a slight incline

Not sure about the true muscle car era, but through the 70s and 80s the 305 (Chevy small block V8) was found in Impalas, Caprices, Monte Carlos, Camaros and Z28s.
