You will only experience symptoms when its too late.....!! Especially with the transmission, a flush will sometimes put it out of its misery...

However, the best indicator is the fluid condition.... transmission fluid should be red and not smell like burnt stuff, as well as PS fluid (both use ATF).... Rear diff fluid, if it hasnt been done within 50k, needs to be done.... Brake fluid should be done also, as there really isnt any way to tell....

Sure there is, it like all fluids, brake fluid has a brand new color!

The amber straw color is a sure sign of degradation. Sparkling crystal clear means as new.

Some low cost aftermarket chain store brake fluids are already amber in the bottle , so much for good quality or good packaging!

And the dark brown to black looking fluid found in most cars is way past it`s prime!

an adjective to describe something{q} that is in showroom, perfect, immaculate,as new condition-highly overused in the description of used cars!

We're showing our age...those that remember the Laugh In line, "look it up in your Funk and Wagnalls" (and those of us that remember when a dictionary was a book, and not a domain name!)
