id say it depends on the condition of the engine. i know you need a balanced crank a some point.

Are you using a stock T25? If you are then your power starts do fall at about 6500 rpms i believe. Also you should get a RAS and some valve springs to rev it safely past redline. Just my 2 cents.:D

Unfortunately, the SR has rocker arms and hydraulic lifters (or lash adjusters since lifters are for pushrod engines)...so it can be risky to raise the redline w/out a properly tuned valvetrain. A RAS kit will help the rockers from moving out of place and causing valve float or other engine damage. The valve springs will help prevent valve float. With those two parts, I would guess the engine would be safe to 8k. If you want to go past that, I would seriously consider replacing the lash adjusters with solid tappets and cams. The hydraulic lash adjusters are the main reason people don't like to spin the SR high. Jun sells a kit they call the 'lash killer kit'. That and the cams to go with it, plus the RAS and valve springs will give you a very, very strong and capable valvetrain...it may just be worth it to buy Jun's Complete Head Kit. Good luck.:)

you should go back to honda...VTEC is obviously were its at...

If you're very concerned with high revs, maybe a CA18det would be a better choice to fit your desires.

I think you know the answer yourself....the rev limiter is there for a reason..and tuned ecu's raise it to 7700, and stop there for a reason...I think its pretty safe to say that the nissan engineers have a pretty good idea of what rpm to keep the max at to legthen the life of the car....you'd think that if you wanted to go higher, you'd consider upgrading parts..no?

BTW, are you looking for a p/s pump? If so, what's the problem?

We don't answer your questions very well either because you can find it through a search or common sense. Come on, if a STOCK engine redlines at 7500, its there for a reason for being STOCK. I am very annoyed today how I join the forums to see new topics and half the board is filled up with YOUR posts/questions. You could have searched for all these answers and learned more then you wanted while searching. Then, if you want to know where godspeed is, Private Message him! There's no need to do a public announcement for one person. You use up valuable board space, and we never did like it when we wanted to read the forums and got that "daily bandwidth exceeded" thing.

Not trying to be rude, but just letting you know, PM'ing is disabled...otherwise I would have pm'd you the question I asked you in the 'attn godspeed' thread.:)
