Wow, I'm not a huge fan of FD's but this is a very well put together example. As far as it not being worth $30K, I would have have to disagree. Dude has a brand new GT-R in his driveway, I really don't think he's to concerned about adding drift tax to it. It's low mileage, the car is practically new, and he's obviously invested a lot of money into it judging by everything he's said he's had done to it.

How is a worked and built RX-7 in pristine condition with low miles not worth 30K, but a bone stock TT MkIV Supra with more miles worth 40K?

FDs are rare, but not rare enough for 20K, let alone 30K or 53K.

Dude is selling it for so much because he obviously does not need to sell it.

Meh, and once you buy it you'll undoubtedly changing things further to the way you want it.

Just give me 30k and I'll build one the way I want it from the start.

Clean car though.

Z06 nothing. C5 + mods is the way to go.

I have seen just as clean low mileage rebuilt examples come across my local CL for 12-19k, granted they didnt have the extensive performance mods but i would rather buy it stock and do it my way

Not worth anything close to $30k, IMO.

If I had $30k, I'd either restore a naturally-aspirated 964 Porsche or build a 3.0 CSL ground-up with a 20B, flares, blah blah.

Or a Hakosuka, you can buy a cleeeean shell for $12k and then put whatever firebreather you want in it.

The FD RX7 is a teenage dream car of mine, but a 1990 NSX can be had for well under $30k, so I might go for that first.

oh yeah...NSX is a supercar...the FD...it um...has a rotary?

as for the C5 + mods...can't argue that either....BUT how much will the price of a used C5 leave of the 30k?

Kidding, right? The NSX and FD are damn near identical in performance characteristics... and both very sexy.

The only way I'd choose an NSX is if I could stuff an LS7 into it like I would an FD.

The LS FD is one of nature's most perfect creations. Better looking than a C5 for similar cost, and lighter to boot.

Nada.com puts a clean C5 at about 19k.

Although Nada.com also puts a clean Z06, same year and miles, at 21k. So I'm a little stuck. C5s are a lot more easier to live with on the road than the Z06 from what I've heard.

This makes my head hurt. The Z06 IS a C5. Unless it's a C6.

Exactly, unless having a better performing car is harder to live with...

And as for the comments on the NSX, I didnt know that a mid engine and sub 300 hp got you supercar status, dont get me wrong, i love NSX's as much as the next guy (not a car that i aspire to own though) but saying that its in a different league than the FD is pretty far off.

Go on corvetteforum and pick up a slightly high mileage C5 for 14-15k. Drop 7G's on an ECS or A&A Vortech Supercharger kit. Puts you around 500rwhp for 23k. 2k for coilovers, 3k for C6 Z06 brakes and wheels/tires to fit(selling your old ones). Leaves you 2k for a set of headers and meth(turning the boost up in the process). Be at 550rwhp or more daily driven on pump gas. All for $30k.

Or you can buy a used supercharged C5 for under 30k that's got all of that done and maybe has a built motor...

Nice car, but I can think of many other cars I'd rather spend 30k on first.
