If the G35 didn't exist what car would you be driving?

I would probably be in a BMW 330 or Nissan 350Z. Mostly because those were the cars I was looking at when I spotted the G.

That's an easy question. I'd be driving the I35 with sport, aero, and winter options. Kev...

I actually looked at several cars in addition to the G35X I now own: An Audi A4, a Lexus 330, and a BMW 325.I wouldve probably driven a Lexus 330. In Fit, finish, and overall quality it may be the best, even possibly beating Infiniti. It rides quieter too. But its no sports car and as nowhere near the pep of my G. The A4 was very underpowered with that 4-banger Turbo. Bimmer I thought was overpriced, and worthless in the snow. Infiniti just seemed the best overall.

350z, no question. I actually almost bought one before the G. The interior differences were what did it for me.

I don't drive a G35 so I can't answer.

But I felt the need to post anyways.

I have an FX. But if I didn't get the FX, I would have gotten the G. I just needed a little more utility room right now. I guess that's why I'm in this forum as much as the FX forum. :D

I am hoping a G35X will be in the works for us later this year - my wife would get it.)

Hmmmm....I probably would have bought an M45 or the new Volvo S40 w/ AWD. The S60R is a sweet car too, but a little out of my price range. The TL is nice too, but I don't think I could get used to the idea of having a car with 275hp and front-drive. Ick. Ditto for the Maxima, plus it's not all that prestigious, is it?

It would be a Vette Coupe, but the cargo I carry (see http://www.ssegal.net/donvito.html) just won't fit in the Vette.

And the G35 Coupe is just as much fun anyway (but i still keep hoping for a G45 Coupe).

Not only does he fit - he's a big guy (145 lb) with arthritis in the shoulders and dysplacia in the hips, so I don't like him to jump - so the G35Coupe is PERFECT. The passenger seat moves forward, and he can step right onto the rear floor, then up onto the seat - no jumping required.

I have the "bucket" configuration of the back seats filled in with high density foam, then I laid a layer of "memory foam", then a heavyweight movers blanket - and the whole thing is held in place with 4 motorcycle ratchet-type tie-downs that go under the bottom of the back seat. (The service manager at my local Infiniti dealership thought I was nuts, but he helped me set it all up - and the back seat is just basically equipped to haul around a bullmastiff - I never use it for passengers).

For me, the G35C let me buy a sportscar, AND have Vito - a perfect car. I haven't yet found the perfect combo for a motorcycle, but I did for a year have a Harley Ultra, with Sidecar - but that's a long story.

To answer your question - yes, you can fit a very large dog in a G35C (probably not larger than 160LB, but that's nearly everything except Great Danes, and large Mastiffs).

I had an STi on order for 4 months. when it came in with a bunch of options I didn't order I decided to go with the G35.

I also looked at the Z and the RX8.

You made a wise choice. The STI would be a helluva a fun car to have though.

By the way, welcome to NICO canton.
