when im in gears the car run fine ,but when there a red light ahead , throw back to neutral, then my rpm drop then it bouncing around from 600 to 1300 rpm then it keep doing that while my car free-roll on neutral until my car is dead stop , then the idle turn back to be normal at exactly at 800. i live in arizona where is either really hot or cold... and i noticed it is only happen when the weather is cold..when is hot the problem doesnt seem to happen. NO CEL , no sputtering , no deaccelerate feeling or anything...so im piss and normally my idle will idle at 800 now the only way i can avoiding that happen is setting my idle by adjusting the idle screw and set it idle at 1200-1300...do u guys think that will make my motor hotter ?? i belive and know someone set there car idle at 1500...that hella high..

edited : ok and a noobs question...does power steering have anything to do with idle ?? cause i have power steering and is wierd...when i set my car striaght and throw it back to neutral ..it doesnt happen..but when i throwed back to neutral and i make a u-turn...and the idle dropped down to 500-600 and then bounced back up if the car went striaght

i have s14 SR fully build with tomei cams..

Its perfectly normal when you turn the wheel and the idle drops, its the power steering pump, nothing to worry about, my brother's and my 240sx does it all the time.

As for the idle problem, my brother's last 240sx had SR20 in it and did the same thing when in neutral. Dropped it off with a local Nissan Specialist and he said it was the blow off valve not opening all the way I believe, he dissembled and cleaned it, and problem solved. Check your blow-off valve if its cluttered.

I'm saying its normal for the RPM to dip when turning the wheel back and forth. Also if you still have the problem with the RPM and neutral, I'd check the BOV, just because you don't see it visually, doesn't mean it can't be defective, just my 2 cents
