So I wait all week for clutch parts to come in so I can fix my poor crippled car. Today I got all the stuff so I set about replacing it. I come to find out I am missing some tools... like, a 3/8" drive socket wrench, all my 3/8" extensions, a 12mm socket, and my 1/2" to 3/8" adapter. Great. Luckily I have my full set of metric GearWrench ratcheting wrenches. Replaced clutch master, slave and lines. Bled everything, and I'm good to go.

So I go to fire up the car and it just turns over and over and over. SWEET! I can't even take the plugs out to check them because I am lacking some key tools. All the fuses are fine, its getting fuel and spark. I can't check the timing because I don't have a light here at school.

I'm going to go have a long talk with her and see if I can't get her to change her mind. "Baby I just spent all my money on you! Can't you see I love you? Please baby, all you have to do is start, and then I can drive you back to Huntsville and give you that new oil pump, intake cam, injector cleaning, bearings, exhaust, catch can, gaskets, tune, etc. etc. etc. that you want!!"

So does your lady mind the "other woman" in the garage?

I think most of us talk to our cars like they are people. I wonder if Gabby gave hers a guy's persona.

I tried to include my wife in the fun. Before I popped the motor we would go out together. I would drive while she would watch my guages and tell me what they were doing. I would then explain to her what I was adjusting. She is not really a car person but she was starting to feel involved and enjoyed going out hunting for races with me. When it comes time to put the new engine together I will have her there as well.

my girl just says its "too loud", and when i took her for a ride in it, it jerked alot because of it not running good. im going to teach her to drive it this spring. having a girl involved with your true love is the 2nd best thing that can ever happen to you

Well, my wife was kind of a tomboy when she was a kid. The 3 foot fireballs that shot out of the hood of my old Skyline didn't bother her on our first date either.

Does it say it doesn't want any gas until you start filling up another car and then it asks to "try some of his" and then sucks down 20 gallons of premium only to refuse to boost later that night?

Finally persuaded her to rethink her decision. She fired up after 10 minutes of cranking and working the throttle. She ran on three cylinders and billowed white smoke for a while, but she runs like a champ now. I have no idea what the problem was. I love you baby!

LOL, yes.

As for my wife, she will be the primary driver of my AE86 (she wants me to paint it pink). She was also pretty involved with the CA18 build and encourages me to spend money on my car. God I love her, lol.
