so if i have a new 240sx that i just bought and has megan racing exhaust manifold (are they any good) and a stock t25 turbo, if i want to upgrade turbo to the gt28rs do i need a new exhaust manifold and downpipe and stuff??? what else do i need to do it, and can i get all of this under 1000 dollars. my friend is saying that i need to learn my car first cause its my first turbo car but my bolts that connect the turbo to the exhaust manifold keep coming loose so if im gonna take it apart i might as well up grade turbo cause they come with new gasket, studs and bolts so let me know what you guys think, and let me know where i can get a upgrade or under 1000 dollars (ebay) i dont know.

Also yes your friend is right, and if you're using "it comes with bolts" as an excuse to upgrade I think your friend is REALLY right.

Personally, i advise you to learn more about the car. I am planning to change my turbo in my SR20 to gt28rs as well... i have heard all the best about this turbo... btw, is it the same turbo on s15??

yes. the gt28 came on the s15. (not sure if that was a serious question or not)

secondly - bman2033 - if you have worked on a car before then go for it. the best way to learn is hands on. and if you have questions then post pics and we'll help.

note - since you asked about the quality of megan racing i also feel that you need to do alot more research. start by reading threads on each page that pretain to turbo upgrades. look through about 20 pages then you'll be good to go.

well the only reason why i ask about megan is because i have one, and secondly i see alot of people have them on the forums when they list all of what they have done to there cars so i thought that maybe there good and i dont know if its worth spending900 bucks for a jic manifold, or some of the other ones out there.

its been about a year of daily driving and my Megan manifold hasn't **** the bed yet. I bought it for looks mostly... This winter I'm sending my O.E. manifold to Jet Hot and im going to use it when I buy my S15 turbo this spring. The Megan manifold in my opinion is sloppy in design where the pipes collect at the flange... or rather a good 4" above it... 3 pipes converge 4" above the flange into a big empty space, and the 4th pipe enters right on the flange 90° to it, shooting directly backwards instead of down into the turbo.

The O.E manifold is divided which 'tunes' (i think cyl 1/3 on one side 2/4 on the other) the way the exhaust is dumped into the turbine, and it is very direct. Plus it's cast iron which obviously won't have any chance of cracking on you. It may not be the prettiest thing ever but Jet Hotting it black will do a lot of good for looks and keep engine bay temps down and help slightly (probably insignificantly) with spoolup. Another benefit of using the o.e. manifold is being able to use the stock catch can, which i've been dying to do.

My Megan got ugly real fast anyway... Stainless Steel means 'Corrosion Resistant', not "shiny forever". I do really like my Megan downpipe though, with the flex joint... It's kind of fat and scrapes sometimes (im really lowered) but it's good knowing when my exhaust swings around or when the motor vibrates it's not stressing anything.

"**** the bed!!!!" If I had Megan Racing manifold, I'd try my hardest to find a stock cast iron manifold. If/when the ss crapper cracks at the weld, you'll be glad. Definately invest in a good, solid manifold BEFORE you upgrade turbo. I'm not a big horsepower guy, but I'm all about RELIABILITY. Cast iron won't fail you unless you drive at redline, stop on the side of the road, and have (all) your friend(s) pee on it at the same time...
