Like with a lot of litte annoyances on the Z32.....its most likely a vacuum leak.

Nah, its cheap and easy to fix. Just do a test on it and find where the vacuum leak is. If that's the cause its going to be one of the rubber vacuum lines under the hood. You can buy universal hose at any parts store

sorry but can you explain it in more detail? how do i test it, what kind of tube am i looking for? also would i feel a difference in accelertion due to this prob.? recently ive been feeling unusuall lag in 1st gear, and my car seems to be running kind of rough, do you think there could be a link between these 2 probs?

where are the vacuum lines located and what do they carry becuase my z started idling high lately its been doing around 1,500 at start and after aobut 10 min it would keep dropping slowly to around 700 and just stay there but today i ran the car and it idled at exaclty 1,000RPM. After about 10 min it would drop to around 700rpm and for 10 min it would stay and again go back up to 1,000. my oil is very dark, i will change it on monday and my turbos are leaking, they are barely leaking but i know im burning oil hence the white smoke so i thought it owuld have somehitng to do with that, but all the hoses i have are old and ive had about 5 leaks in the 5 or so months i own the car, they were simple fixes took about 2 hours to change one that was next to the turbo.

vacume lines are generally the small hoses running to various places from your intake manifold and or piping, they carry nothing, they just allow the suction of the engine to be used to trigger other devices or meters, look at the ends where they connect to their boars at either end if they are hard and cracked replace them, any parts store sells the tubing by the foot in various diameters, just take them a sample of the size you need and tell them how long
