hi i have a 93 coupe. my problem is my idling at 1500. i've relocated my battery to my trunk, and i have the short ram intake that runs the intake to where the battery used to be in the engine bay. i've also removed the A/C. and well i tried fixing the idle through the iacv, but no luck i've turned it clockwise or screwed it in as far as it would go to lower the idle. but still no luck, cause it still idles at 1500. is there any other ways to lower it?

with moving things around and modifying the stock intake have you gone over the connections from the filter to the manifold to ensure theres no small vacuum leaks? you may not hear the whistle but it could still be happening. any unchecked air would play with the MAP sensor (if the 93 has one) causing the car to idle high. just a thought.

did this happen after u did those mods? if so, which one, or did u do both of them together and then after u were done, the idle problem started?

i was thinking that if adjusting the idle control air valve did nothing for it, maybe ur throttle isnt closing all the way. might want to check on that.

well ok i bought the car from a guy that did the 5 speed transmission swap, but he left the ECU auto which he said would mess with my idle and that i would have to get a manual ECU which i did but still no help, and also he tricked the transmission into thiknking its in park all the time, so i can start my car with out pressing in the clutch. ok now when he swapped the transmission, he also took out the emissions control. now he did these things before i bought it so i dont know what vaccuum lines go to where or anything. i have looked at the diagrams and they're to hard to read for me. also i dont know why he did this but one of the 4 vaccuum lines he cut and blocked off the from the intake. which was the line that my intake needed to keep from stalling the engine. so i got a new hose and connected it to my intake and now the car doesn't stall. now that you guys know what my car has been through i hope this helps with finding of a solution. and i have checked every hose i could find and they have all been blocked off with screws. so i don't think there's a leak. but this what my intake looks like.

and well see i've always had an idle problem as i explained earlier, but this time, i actually fixed it though to where the car doesn't die. but today i found this is not true because it died on me today but only one time. and also now the idle is somtimes 15-1600 or 1200. and usually before its at 1200 and i'm slowing down i put it in nuetral and the needle drops and hits 500 or just hunts for like 2 or 3 seconds then dies, or it will go back and stay at 1000 exact and no problems from that. well just a stauts update that i found out today.. thanks guys i'll keep looking for vaccuum leaks and i also cleaned the butterfly thing in the throttle body with a microfiber rag/towel i had, be cause it had a little bit of black stuff on it. but i think it opened and closed fine. but if it doesn't close all the way. then what would i do to fix that cause i'm gona check on it again tomorrow.

u dint mention anything about the throttle itself not being closed all the way, but that wouldnt cause the stalling out. that probly has something to due with ur MAF sensor. check its connection, maybe clean it or replace it. thats my best guess. do some research and u can find out how to check ur MAF with a voltmeter

Check your grounds. Make sure the intake mani ground is connected. IIRC its connected to the battery tray where the stock ground for the battery is.

whats the IIRC? and also i heard a whining noise, kinda like a whistle. and well i think thats a leak as dryskal said i might have earlier. but its only when i first turn the car on though and only when its cold. and also when its the first start of the morning, but only happens sometimes though but i have heard it a couple of times but i didnt know what it was.. also i think i still have a vaccuum line thats not connected from when the guy did the emssions removal. but he blocked everything off so no leaks i think, but possibly a line that has to be connected. but my problem is that i cant read the diagrams for nothing, because they are complicated. could someone help me out to show me which lines should be connected after the emissions thing is removed but i mean over on the exhaust side where the headers are at. i would very much appreciate something like pictures (would help alot) or something thats not very complicated.
