I think he has a CA18DET power 200SX that is going to get an RB25DET swapped in soon from a Skyline he wrecked and the CA is not idling right and he just needs it to run for a couple of months before the swap,,, Lik forealz

It is a sad commentary though when someone who obviously speaks English as a second language makes more sense than most American High School graduates. fo-shizzle

yeah sorry bout my english im from the caribbean and its actually my laptop keyboard who helps me with the typo's anyways it tries to idle at like 500 rpm and sounds like i got a baddas cam in it like a V8 or something.its sounds like the engine is almost turning off but it doesnt(if i let him do it long enough it will though) and another funny thing when im driving if i push in the clutch and lets say i was at 4000rpm itl stay stuck there unless i remove my feet from the clutch slowly and that will brin it down agian to around 500!

what i meant to say is, is the car "cold", as in not warmed up yet. it's sort of a generic problem with this engine to idle poorly, sputter, shimmy, shake, and otherwise act as though it's possesed by some sort of automotive demon until it gets "warm". not to say there aren't ways of fixing (or exorcising) it, but i don't know any of them execpt to be paitent for it get warm...

i think it's got something to do with the cold idle valve, though

edit: mine does that thing where it dies if you lift the clutch even if you rev it up when it's cold, just like you described, sorry i couldn't help more

Yep, my CA runs quite devilishly untill its warmed up to full operating temerature. Almost as if the throttle is an on/off switch. After about 5 minutes or so it runs perfect. As for the clutch problem,I have no idea.

Oh, and check your sparkplugs/coils, if the plugs are fould out it can cause this, also the spring inside the coils may be rusty or dirty, or one of coils itself may be bad but that would casue it to run TERRIBLE.

Just my 2 cents. -Shane

You should be idling at around 750rpm. If a basic tuneup does not bring the idle back up, you have no vacuum leaks, and that truly is the only running problem then turn the idle up with tha AAC valve on the side of the intake.
