I have a 99' with A/T, What would cause the idle to bounce around at 500-1000 rpms (dips and stays at 500 rpms) when coming to a stop? And it also sits and idles at 500 rpms and the whole car vibrates, but only when in drive or rev (under load) and stops doing this when put in to nuetral or park? And seems to do this more when the car is hot not cold? Oh yeah no check engine or trans lights. Thanks

There are three things I can think of that could cause this problem. Tranny, ignition system, fuel system.

From the tranny perspective, does it shift normally while driving? Faulty coil packs could cause similar problems as could bad injectors.

Do you have the 99.5th gen? It was a special edition. If you do then u may check ur coil packs cause i think they were the same ones used in the 2000 and 2001 maxima that have been going faulty. My 2000 did the exact same thing yours did. But i got a check engine light.

Sounds to me like you need to replace your PCV valve.
