idling issues?

when i crank the car up it idles really high at 1500 rpm and then when i rev up to 2000 rpm. is this normal on an sr? i just installed it. and this is my first sr and any help would be apprepreciated.

ps. i dont have an exhaust on it. could this be a problem also?

Kind of a bad description of the problem. Does it idle at 1500, then rev up to 2000 by itself, or are you reving it up 2000 and what happens when it does rev. If its idleing at 1500 even when warm and reving up to 2000 by itself, and then dropping ide say check the coolant lines going to your IACV for kinks or blockages.
