idling issue, please help

So my wife got a 89 sohc 240. It idles like hell. It always feels like its going to stall even while your driving. I cant maintain a steady speed without it jumping. Any ideas of what to look for before I start tearing into it tomorrow? I will be doing a tune up but Im pretty sure it needing a tune up wouldnt cause that problem that bad.

carbon buildup in the intake, o2 sensor, injector electrical connections, and coolant temp senser/sender. all of these are the things I did to fix my idle problem on my '90. the biggest thing was the injector connections. wire connections were so corroded that when i would put 2-3lbs of pressure on them with my hand the engine would shut off
