I've recently noticed that my 95 240 is idling at around 1400 rpm, and I was told it should idle at about 750rpm. how can i fix this problem

Does it idle like this no matter if it is cold or warm? What does it idle at when you turn on the AC?

Cleaning the throttle body might help, so try that. Also, while someone pumps the gas pedal, squirt some oil on the throttle cable. Try that, it might help.

Is it just at startup or are you talking about nonstop it idles at 1400
