idles rough then dies

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

My 89 240sx has been idling very rough lately and has started to die as i press the gas moving out of a stop. I have replaced plugs and wires and fuel filter, but still does it. lately i just unpluged some sensor next to the ECCS housing in the engine and it hasn't died on me. Is this a quick fix or more damage to the engine?

Sounds like it could be a coolant temp sensor (that goes to the ecu).
