This may be seen as a really dumb question but i'm asking anyways.
(Yes I know I can heli-coil out the thread itself, and use a heli-coil, but i'm asking this to see if I can avoid such)
Has anyone had problems getting the idler sprocket bolt back on? The problem I had was th bolt will thread in by itself all the way and torque down. The moment I put the sprocket in place with washer it goes all the way to hand tight / 20ftlbs and then spins out over and over. I remove the washer, and the problem goes away, so essentially I suspect just a few threads are messed up inside but i'm not sure...
My main question, can I just say F it with the bolt hand tight and finish attaching the cam chain and sprockets and use that chain to kind of "brace" the idler sprocket, once the timing covers back on that bolt can not walk itself out at all, and the cam chain would technically brace it to the motor would it not?
Thanks for the help... Worse case scenario i'll go get a heli-coil....
