idler pulley bolt threading stripped!

In the process of rebuilding my ka24de, i bought a used head online only to find that the threading for the bolt that holds the idler pulley is almost completely stripped ...would helicoils be a viable option here? i don't have enough faith in my machining technique to helicoil something this precise, so i'd probably send it off to a shop...or would i just be better off buying a new head? thanks
