Hey guys,
Just thought I'd share some thoughts with you, I know alot of people have idling problems.
My problem was that when the car was cold, and I started it right away it would shut off. I would have to hold my foot on the gas pedal for a couple of seconds for it to idle, and when it did idle it wouldn't idle high as it's supposed to.
My base idle is fine, the iacv-aav unit works perfectly, I know this because once the engine is warm my idle would be perfect. If i turned ont he ac the idle would raise up, If i used the heater or used anything that consumed alot of electricity the idle would raise up.
So the problem was definitely the iacv-air regulator. It's a pain in the *** to remove if you have to. Before I went about doing all of that, i simply cleaned it while it was ON the car.
To do this is simple, look on your air intake, the plastic tubing comming from the air box above the fan shroud. You will see two vacuum hoses running off this main hose. Remove the larger of the two and spray throttle body cleaner into it. I pour a healty amount into the hose and let it sit, started the car, let it burn the cleaner out..the repeated this process a couple of times. After i was done, problem solved. Cold idle is beautiful.
so just a heads up for anyone having similar problems.
