this just happened on my KA, it was a vacum hose that was right in front of the wipers and it was disconected. My car would start idleing at like 1500 then slowly die, if i hit the throttle it would run but i couldnt let my foot off the throtle. check vac. hoses, even if you didnt touch them recently, this one of mine wont stay connected for shizit.

did it happen everytime or just sometimes before u messed with the idle and timing? when u say it happens when u roll to a stop, how so? i mean, on my car, i know that if i go from acceleration straight to clutching it and leaving it in nuetrel long enough for the rpm's to go down, there is a good chance that my car will die. if its something like that and u have an atmopheric BOV, then it is probably just a BOV related issue.
