idle?

i have an rb20det in my s13. is there an iac (idle air control). i played with the idle for about an hour the other night, got it set to 750-800 rpms and the next day it was idleing at 2800 rpms. what can i do to set the idle. thanx mike

i believe the iac is on the side of the throttle body closest to the firewall. i think it has a brownish red connector to it. but to be totally honest, im not positive. i have a rb20det in my s14 and i have a high idle, my s14 tach dosnt work with the rb20 motor, so i dont know what im idling at. id guess its around 1500 rpms. i got the car with the motor installed already but the kid said it wasnt finished yet ( the swap), that the coolant temp sensor wasnt hooked up etc.

what causes a hard cold start and a high idle? even when warm it has a high idle.

Yes you're right , but its called AAC ( auxiliary air control ) and you can try a know good ka24de AAC , its supposed to fit on the rb20.

yes it does fit but u have to get the right ka24de aac cuz the came out with two diffterent types.

get one off an s14.

Yeah the way to know is by the connector color also , tell me if im wrong but I think it got the be purple
