Idle Start Problem

ok I Have a 1997 Nissan 240sx le with a KA24DE engine thats pretty much stock. The problem i have with it is, when i start it, it either dies right away unless i give it gas or it idles really low, and/or when i start it and it idle, the idle bounces really low usually between 300-600. i tried adjusting the gas spidle thing with the wire attached to the gas, but i know thats just avoiding the problem. Also when i am driving and i press that clutch to chage gear the car stalls and i have to roll start it many times. can anyone help me out here? i have searched and ihave not found anything like this. ALso I have checked the vaccum lines attchaed to the short ram and they are all fine.

check the IACV. Apparently they get dirty and cause this prob.

when you say you have to roll start it do you mean after the car stalls it will not start back up? if you cant start it back up with key every single time but push starting it works than maybe you have a alternator that is going bad. have your dash lights ever shut off? check your battery and see how much voltage you have..if its not close to a full12v then it is possible your alternator is going bad since your alternator charges your battery.

no i do not mean i have to roll start it, i just usually do just bc i like 2 do it like that (i shouldve clarified that before). but i am pretty sure that it is not and atlinator/battery problem. as for the IACV i am going to take it out and clean it 2morrow and i will let you guys know the results, Thanks for the help. its greatly appreciated since i must go on a 8 hr trip in a couple of days
