So I just bought a 240sx with an RB26 already in it. The guy ran out of money/time and she was just sitting. Anyway I managed to get it home with what I think was a vacuum leak (the crank case vent was leading to atmosphere) Anyway i thought that would fix the idle problem but it is still acting wierd. When I touch the throttle it will rev, but if i hit it more it seems to flood and die. I have read through a bunch of post on here and done alot of searching ( which lead me to this amazing site) so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? I have some more questions too but Illsave those until after I dont more searching. The motor and ECU are stock and it has an aftermarket IC core and custom piping.

What rpm does it die at?

It will sit at about 1000 RPM now that the big vacuum leak is fixed, until it gets a bit warm then if I touch the throttle a little bit it will start to rev but if i press it more it will just bog and die unless I take my foot off the throttle.

The most common culprit on RB25's are the maf's, most of the time due to bad wiring. I don't know if it's the same for RB26's. Is the timing correct?

I just downloaded the FSM from here and the next step is to check voltage from the MAF, AAC, and Crank position sensor.
