Alright so I just swapped the motor in my 93' 240. Same exact engine, s13 ka24de ran fine before it was in my car. So here's the deal. I started it up and it idled okay for maybe 10 seconds and then it slowly bogged down. Figured it was a vacuum leak, check all the hoses I could find and they all looked fine. I searched here and I saw some people saying to unplug the MAF and see what happens. If the car runs fine with the MAF unplugged then apparently the MAF is bad. So I tried that, and the car ran normally after I unplugged the MAF. So I quickly swapped the MAF from another 240 just to make sure that was the problem. Plugged in that MAF and I had the same problem as before. Unplugged it, car runs normal.

Any ideas?

Edit: I'm an idiot sometimes. Mods if you could move this to the online mechanic section that would be great.

does it just bog low or does it kinda go up and down, i had that problem when i low on coolant. but your problem is probably different.

use starter fluid to look for leaks very aggressively but just dont use the fluid when the motor is hot try it when you first start it... or you can use a fine mist of water????

you may need to get your computer scan to see what the problem is while its running

see, I would try that. but why would unplugging the MAF temporarily fix a tps problem?
