If there is an open or short in one of the injectors the car will let you know. I have seen them stick open to the point of hydrolocking the cylinder and have perfect resistance value. Actually the injector was only found when my compression gauge filled with fuel from a disconnected injector.
I too have disassembled a CPS, but the one I had wasn't mine

I really wanted to see what warrants the price...the answer is nothing really.
It's painfully simple but so very crucial to the running of all of our cars.
