Idle problems

So the engine was idling around 1.8. So i adjusted the IAC by screwing it in one turn. It went UP to about 3k in idle. I took out the screw and cleaned it with some wd 40, dried it an put it back in same problem 3k idle. I checked my connections and found my intake to be loose, i adjusted it and tightened it. Idle came down to about 1.8k . When i took out the little screw from the IAC i noticed theres was a slight gouge at the end of it, could this be my problem? If so can i get a replacement for that screw or should i just replace the whole IAC? Please respond as sson as anyone is able, id like to order an iac for sat delivery is i need a whole new one.
