idle problem

Hey i am new here and i just got my 89' 240 coupe 2 months ago, It for some reason will idle way low when i push in the clutch at lights, it goes all the way silent and about 10 seconds goes by and it will rise back up to a regular idle. Does anyone know what would cause this? I am new to the 240 scene and don't know anyone in Oregon that knows much about 240's to tell me.

Probably your 20+ year old idle air control valve. which as the name states controls your idle. It's on the intake manifold and should have a couple plug ins to it.
