Hey every1 im new to this site. I have a 93 240sx just swapped in a sr20det redtop. The car has a crazy idle it will go from 1000-2000 rpms it will stay at both for about 5 seconds and then switch back to the other. Doesnt die, does this with the engine cold or hot doesnt matter. I thought it was the MAF did some searching on here said try to start car then unplug MAF if the idle dont change prolly not ur prob. when i pulled it car died. Tried to do the carb cleaner in the AIC valve not change also sprayd sum on my MAF sensor thinkin maybe it had sum dirt or build up on it. I dont know what else to do any suggestions

Air leaks?

Any intake leak after the MAF could cause your problem.

I dont know what is called but its a screw that changes the idle i backed it off a lil and i also played with the aic valve screw (that screw that is middle of the intake manifold) and got my idle to steady out a whole lot better. Now it shakes kinda bad like its gonna die but it doesnt. I tried to get on it a little today it kinda feels like its bogs down at about 4k-4500rpms some where in that range. could it also be my MAF? i have the ka24e MAF from the sohc 240sx.

sorry i dont know the correct names for the parts im talkin about hope you can understand what im talkin about.

you could be having a vacuum leak, air in your cooling system or low coolant or your aic is bad
