idle problem

hey everyone... looking for some help. i got the SR runnin now finally but am having some small issues. the idle is pretty rough it will jump between 1k-500 rpm's and then starts to bog out. i tried adjusting the timing alittle bit but that didnt help to much. i was thinking maybe my MAFS is bad? ok the first time i drove the car i got it up to about 4500rpms and it was fine then driving alittlle more i couldnt get it about 3k. i am thinking maybe i have a vacuum leak somewhere. but if ne one else has any suggesations please let me know. i also am running really rich i have a z32 o2 sensor on my redtop i am assuming that is the problem but if ne one has ne other ideas let me know. thanks in advance

You could be on to something with a vacuum/boost leak. Get a can of brake clean and start spraying around all the areas that could leak (IC pipes, couplings, TB, IM). If the idle drops down you've found your leak.

I'd look for vac leaks first like you and highmilehatch pointed out. If you can't find a vac leak, look into mafs issues. Those can get tricky. It could also be related to your tps, but there'd usually be more "it bogs out" associated with your situation.

so you said you finally got the sr running..so im wondering if you just installed the z32 maf? if you did you could have wired it wrong which in turn may have shorted out your ecu. when you say you cant get the engine past 3k rpms is it very hesitant? misfiring at all? let us know if you just installed anything new
