Hi guys, got a problem i need a little help with.

I drive a 1990 240sx (sohc) For awhile now my engine check light has been on with the error code for fuel injector leak. So yesterday i finally receive the injectors that i baught (stock) and put them in. But now my car idle's really really rough. it's never been this rough, it shakes my car very noticibly even from the outside. Whenever i go into 5th gear it shakes so bad i feel like somethings going to blow up if i stay in 5th.

Also when im in the low gears like going from nuetral to first is shakes as bad as it does in 5th gear. I know that the 240 has idle problems but this is something else. I can also feel that i dont as much power as i used too.

Any help is appreciated. Here is pretty much the procedure that i followed when taking them out. it was from another post here somewhere.

"now for relieving fuel pressure basically wut ur gonna wanna do is remove fuel pump fuse (10amp) placement of fuse is behind battery. the second red 10amp fuse from the front of car is fuel pump.basically start engine and let her run till she stalls. thus relieving the "majority" of fuel in fuel lines.

then reinstall new injectors with NEW seals if possible."

to get the fuel rail loose i had to take off a few hoses that were directly above the fuel rail but i put them back on.

Sounds very much like you're not running on all four cylinders. Unplug the spark plug wires one by one with the engine running and take note of which one does not cause the engine idle to change at all. Could be a bad injector, could be improperly connected, could be a broken wire in the harness, or I could just be dead wrong.

PS: Welcome to Nico!!

thanks, i'll check out the spark plugs.

also, as far as i can tell there arnt any leaks anywhere near the injectors. and for the first time in awhile my engine check light is off. i dont know if that is important but just thought ide add it in.

Did you remove the spark plug wires at all? Check you have them hooked back up correctly. It's 1-2-3-4 front to back on the valve cover, but the distributor sequence is ordered differently: 1-3-4-2, clockwise

Does it fire at all, or just flooding?

Yeah^

And then after that if it still doesn't start when you crank it, take out all the spark plugs and see which ones (if any) are soaked with fuel.

double check your installation of the injectors. when you sat it ran rough, that sounds like what i experienced with leaky injector o-rings. i had the same code and replaced all the o-rings, first with crappy ones. they broke down in a couple of days and started leaking fuel which causes the motor to bounce around on its mounts. and eventually will flood the cylinders.

to finally make sure i had the o-rings installed right heres what i did. remove the fuel rail from the manifold. leave all the plumbing attached. now have someone else turn the key to the on position so that the fuel pump comes on. once the lines is pressurized the leaky culprit will show itself double quick.

if you have no leaks when the key is turned on, then your golden. reinstall the rail and look elsewhere.
