can some one please help me?....need help asap.. everytime I start the car the rpm will go up and down from 2000rpm to like 3000 or 4000 rpm. when i drive it around and stop at a traffic light and put it on neutral the car begins to loose power/ bog and dies unless i press on the gas pedel. Then one day after work, i was driving home and all of a sudden the sound of the car change to like an old subaru..i could barely drive it home because it was boggin out real bad. the gas was still on half tank. a week later i bought new ngk platnium iridium spark plugs in a month the spark plugs was warned out. so i bought another set of regular spark plugs, drove it around and in that day it warned out. The gas consumption is really bad. I checked a mechanic and he told me that he believes the problem of the car is an emission problem. the car back fires a lot also.

1. You need to check for codes.2. Check MAF sensor. 3. Check EGR system.4. Check fuel pressure regulator. 5. Check o2 sensor. If its been running very long its probably dead now.

I don't like platinum plugs in older cars. They are more money and they don't help. The OEM plugs are fine. We need to fix the problems not try to cover up with something else.

Hi man, i just diagnosed my car last week and found out that it was the knock sensor i have to replace although, we also found out that there was a fried cell in the ecu box. Do you think i would have to replace the ecu box if the car is running fine? we also cleaned the distributor cap and turned out that the car stop bogging. thanks

If something has been burnt in the ecu I would diagnose this first before replacing ecu or it may do the same thing. Also if it has a problem it may die all together.
