idle problem maybe you can pinpoint the problem

alright well i just started my car up and now it is idling weird...going from 200 rps to 900ish rpms...well this is what i did from the last time i started my car...i put my car on jacks (rear end only) for about 6 days i then removed the diff and axles and then i put in a j30 vlsd and axles...i then also got a catalytic converter and installed it...i dont know why it is idling weird but maybe you guys could help me out...also there is a low constant humming noise coming from the diff...is that normal

i had the same prob. on my 95 240. with the idle prob. i had to readjust the timing and the prob. went away here the ign. timing was a little on the retard side, so i just advanced it with a timing light and got it back on and didn't have the idle prob. no more. That might help. let me know what happens.
