What's up everyone. First off, I'll tell you what engine mods I have so that it gives you a clue of what to work with.

It's a Blacktop SR20DET with a GReddy S13 FMIC, GReddy Type-S BOV, GReddy/Trust 3" DP, HKS filter, ACT 6puck, Denso plugs, and LSD. Those are just the engine mods. Anyways, my car has been idling rather high ever since I got the swap done. It idles at about 1300-1400 RPM's in nutreal (sp?). Anyways, I don't see why it's idling so high. The BOV, and the acutator (sp again) is all T'd to one source going to the TB. It boosts fine and doesn't loose boost all the way through, but it seems to idle high when I'm at a stop. Does anyone know what may cause the problem and what I can do to stop it?

I'm kinda new at this SR20DET thing, so if anyone can help, it's greatly appreciated. Keep in mind I'm not good with SR20DET terms and abreviations..

-Thanks..

When I installed my BOV the idle jumped from 800 to 1300ish. I just turned down the idle screw as low as it could go. Now im at 800 again. You may have a vacuum leak somewhere. Just a thought. Did you already try to adjust the idle screw?

yeah I adjusted the idle screw all the way down and its still at 1300 rpms. Maybe it's my BOV? Someone said I should tighten it..I dunno though..

how are u compensating for the bov? do you have a SAFC?

you are probrobly running rich...if you have an afc, try to lean it out a little at the 1000rpm range..i dont know if that is directly the problem, but it would drop your rpm...adding fuel raises my rpm at idle....

i bet that is what it is...you are prob running rich...you should have a AFC is you are running an external bov...lean it out at idle, and see your idle rpm drop...

so your running a stock sr ecu, and no sort of tuning???get a s-afc.jesse

Just the stock SR ECU. But other people with SR's are running stock SR20 ECU's as well but they don't seem to have the problem that I have. What can be wrong?

Have you checked your timing? If your timing is high, that can effect idle speed. Also, I don't know if SR's have a TPS (throtle position sensor) but on my MKIII supra, I replaced it and the idle went back to normal.... just something to look for. Is there a way to check engine codes?

i'd have to recomend the AFC or getting your ECU reworked to compensate for the BOV, how do you have your BOV set up?? (how does it vent?)

the AFC will help a lot anyways, no matter if it resolves your idle issue, you may also want to check for vacum leaks, sometimes motors will gain rpm's when there are leaks. also see if the BOV itself is fully seating.

I'm guessing it's vacuum leaks but it boosts fine and holds up all the way through....

ummm, if it doesn't surge or anything, can't you just adjust the throttle cable? Loosen the tension on it? Then you could just bring the idle down 800. Just a thought.
