Post

Hey all. First time posting. I had a question. I recently bought my girlfriends' dads' 97 Maxima GXE with a 4spd slushbox. I really love the car and just finished replacing the basic stuff. My problem is that when I am going at very low speeds, i.e. parking, the engine will sometimes just cut off. It did it also yesterday when I was at a red light and started to accelerate. The only time it seems to do it is when I dont give it much gas or just let the engine pull the car. I know for a fact that the idle control motor was recently replaced, and I have inspected it and found nothing wrong. Could this possibly be a vacuum problem or perhaps a sensor? The car has 128K miles. There is no check engine light and everything runs great. Thanks!

Welcome to NICO!It seems like we're seeing a lot of problems like this lately...hopefully we can help you out.

The "usual suspects" for problems like this are:MAFEGRIACV (which you've replaced and say is good)Or it could be a problem with fuel delivery. (Fuel filters, injectors, or fuel pump).

It could also be the result of a misfiring cylinder, but that's usually more evident (low power all the time, harsh running, sometimes strong fuel smell/fuel in the exhaust).
