idle issues?

hey im still new to nissans so plz bear with me. in the mornings when i turn my car on it jumps from alil past 1k then back down to .5, is there any problems or am i worryin too much? also when i sit at a light my idle is at about 1k, is that right or should it be all the way down to zero???

Hehe, it's common knowledge for all cars :P not just Nissans.

But as long as your car isn't losing power, or stuttering, jerking, etc. You're fine. If power and engine stay running smoothly then you're in the clear. I believe the 240SX shuold Idle around 700rpm? 0 RPM means you're not getting any ..anything, and your engine would be off, not moving etc.

Sounds fine.

Sounds fine to me as well. Might want to bump up the idle screw a bit so it's idling around 700-800rpm or so though when it's warm. The high initial idle is called a fast idle, it's trying to warm up the engine. Nothing to worry about and perfectly normal.
