Got the motor running...starts right up after timing belt change.
Seems to run ok until I give it gas, then it dies. Any ideas?
Also, the oil gauge is not lit like the other gauges and not registering anything. Oil is full.
Would that be the gauge, sending unit or possibly a bulb, relay issue?
Thanks all!!

Did the car run fine before the timing belt change? did the oil pressure gauge work before the change? The rev issue might be a bad connection at the tps or the mas, unplug clean and replug both see if that helps. The oil pressure sender is on the passenger side above the oil filter, the wires tend to fatigue as well as oil soaking form leaky valve covers, make sure it's plugged in and the wire hasn't broken off.

Thanks! I will check both of those...
Not sure if it ran or not..I purchased it without a starter (and a few other things)..
Seems to start fine, but then once the idle comes down it wants to die...spits and sputters.
Is it normal to adjust the timing after a timing belt change? Wonder what it needs to be set on..?

Should be 20 btdc, shouldn't need adjustment unless the belt was seriously stretched and someone adjusted the timing to compensate. more likely the aicv is dirty possibly sticking, clean and adjust it.

Yes, Voltage gauge seems to be working fine.
How do you clean the AICV and do you have to remove it and the plumbing going to it?
Thanks guys!

aivc Idle air control valve, sometimes called an air regulator, also a ficv, fast idle control valve, in both cases you remove them and clean them with carb cleaner of similar
