Just wondering how I could change the rpm on my idle. When I started my car this morning it was idling between 500-1000 rpm and I know that is a pretty low idle.

Also, can anyone recommend an idea to make my gear shift at quicker. It's an automatic and when it switches into 2nd it will do it between 3500-4500 rpm. I think is a little bit to high so thoughts and suggestions on fixing this would be appreciated.

Idle should be about 700 rpm and is a combination of a number of factors.

TPS could be out of adjustment, affecting shift points.

Check ECM codes too, as the KS code doesn't trigger the CEL.

It is normal to idle higher on the first cold start to help the engine to warm up then it should drop down to 750 +/- 50rpms.
