I think I have found my problem. My car is displaying a idle control system issue. I was wondering, if there is a problem, is it possible that the idle control system is causing my car not to startup??

one way to find out is hold you pedal about 1/4 the way down and try to start it. If your idle control system is the problem it should start up and run no problem untill you let off the gas. All your idle control does is open and close an air passage.

I just tried the peddle. That didn't work. So I was wondering, if it isn't the idle system what could the problem be? I know the scanner gave me the po505 code which is the idle control system. I have the factory service manual so I would appreciate where to look.

hold your foot on the floor and crank it 4 to 5 times for 10 secs each. never let your foot off the throttle during the entire process. on the 4th or 5th attempt cranking if it is flooded it should start to cough as though it is wanting to start. If you start to get the coughing drop the throttle to the 1/4 position and see if it will fire over at that point. Holding your foot to the floor while cranking is a clear flood procedure. this gives the engine the maximum amount of air possible and helps to get the fuel cleared from the cylinder.

Ok I will try that. But I forgot to mention this is an at car not a manual.
