i have a 93 240sx with an s14 motor and s13 transmission. i pulled the motor out to reseal the oil pan, put a new clutch on, slave cylinder, s13 cams. i put the motor back in and bled the hell out of the clutch and could not get any pressure and the clutch was slipping. i went ahead and got a new master cylinder to see if that would help because it looked like it was leaking. put that on and still couldnt get any pressure. so i got rid of the damper box and adjusted the rod on the master cylinder, but still i have no pressure but the clutch no longer slips, now it grinds in every gear. no idea what i should do, i cant get hardly any pressure from the clutch pedal.

another problem is that at idle it sputters and sometimes cuts off. i checked the cams and it looks like they are right. i dont know if this could be a vaccum leak or something with timing.

i need help, i am very frustrated after trying for three days to bleed the clutch.

Ok lets deal with one problem at a time... Your not getting any pressure in your clutch... you have to have some sort of leak or something along those lines.. Clean everything really good (lines, MC, slave, etc) and see if you can see where it is...

Did it push out a good stream of fluid out of the bleeder when you went to bleed it... What MC did you replace it with?

also, where were you bleeding it from???

i couldnt find a leak anywhere. i cleaned everything off and made sure everything was tight and didnt see any leaks. lots of tiny bubbles when i bled it but after days of trying i gave up. is it true that its better to not pump the clutch when you bleed it? im not sure what kind of mc, just one i bought from autozone. where should i have the rod on the mc adjusted to when i bleed it? oh and im bleeding it from the slave.
