please help! ok the head warped due to ignition timing. I had the head decked. I had someone else install the head he had the cam timing off. I fixed that .Now the cars idle will be really high i checked the ignition timing its at 15 degrees but the car will be at like 2000 rpm. If I go drive it the idle will come down at stops to around 800 but when I try to get on it it bogs down then goes. I got code 13 out of the ecu (temp sensor) I replaced that .I also replaced the air idle control but its still messed up. what am I doing wrong? Did i replace the right sensor (the one on the right)? Do I have to mess with throttle cable? any thoughts would be really appreciated.:help

Well if it bogged down then it wouldnt be the throttle cable cause it wouldnt have anything to do with the bogging if you give it gas.

the coolant temp sensor is the one with the harness connection it's also the bigger of the two so if you replaced this one, it's the right now. the other one is a rivited connection which sends the temperature signal to your dash.

Check the vacuum hoses going to the idle air control valve(he could have mixed them up) check your throttle position sensor...start the engine and warm it up all the way..then disconnect the throttle position sensor, the idle should drop if it doesn't replace the tps. alot of stuff can go wacky when you remove and reinstall the head. bet thing you can do is get a service manual and test stuff accordingly.

Thanks a lot everyone I'll check out that stuff. I have a spare motor i can look at to check vacuum lines. When you unhook the tps sensor your idle should drop? I dont think mine did when I unhooked it to set ignition timing

well there's two connections from the tps, the one directly on the tps body is for the idle switch. the one that runs off of the tps is the one you want to disconnect.
