idle at 1500 and rough when starting

whats up pep's so i got lil problem, my 89 sohc is at 1500 at idle and runs rough every time i start it no matter if its been running all day. i got spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, oil change, and i just ordered the cap and rotor... dose anybody have any suggestions

yea i have a 91 KA24DE . and lately when i start my car at idle it runs like complete crap..the rpm jumps up and down from 0 to 1500 RPM..i think it is my MAF sensor. . i just did the things you did too..

its probly a vacume leak man..time to get a can of starting fluid and spray on a rag ..then slowly wipe each line..if the rpms clime rapidly..then you found a leak.

yea bro i got rid of some vac hoses that didnt need and its better but the rpm still high as hell though

i have the exact same problem it always idles between 1000 and 1800 and sometimes at start up and stop signs very constantly and steadily goes from 1500 to 1800 and back and forth and back and forth and so on etc. its a 89 sohc too. i unplugged the tps to check it and on start up rpms shot up to 5000 and i shut off car before something bad happened lol and plugged the tps back in. when i rebuilt mine tho i cleaned the hell out of my iacv with carb cleaner and on test runs and checks idled always at 750 but about a month after started idling gay as it is now.

YEA MAN IT REALY SUCKS, but when i disconnect the tps the car turns off. i cleaned almost all the harness sensor connections i could find also i got the cap and rotor slaped them on and same thing so next im thinking getting both (used) maf and (new) tps... theres alot of topics about this but theres really no solutions, so i thought maybe the more threads there is the more people would wanna help maybe nissan would even do a recall on this and give of all brand new engines and harness lol
