on ka24e sohc.. the idle air control valve seems like a ***** to remove...

anyone have an easy way to do this???

10MM wrench... only 4 bolts... they come of easy.. unhook the two electric plugs... loosen the screw on the Vac line.. wiggle free... takes less then 5 minutes start to finish...

..... What are you taking off??? I hope you're not taking off THE WHOLE INTAKE!

The DOHC IACV looks like this.. the SOHC is a little different but looks about the same it is located on the back of the thing nissan calls the ECCS.. it's held on by 4 bolts...

okay if i get it off?? i can use carb cleaner to clean it?

i don't think i'll get it off tho.. its a hard spot on the sohc.. and 2 fuel lines are above it and i'm not messing with that **** again.

lol but i'm gonna go try taking it off.. be right back.

1 more thing.... are you sure I don;'t need a air intake temp sensor hooked up to solve my problems

kay i took it out and cleaned the iacv and put it back.. started my car and on the first 3 starts the idle went way up to 2,000rpm and dropped down fast and stalled.. i ketp trying to start it after that and then it wouldn't do crap!!!

are you guys sure its not the air intake temp sensor??

i have cleaned my iacv tonight with carb cleeaner... it didn't fix the problem

i tried adjusting the idle screw on it and nothing!!!

i'm going nuts!!!!!

Make sure you put it back together correctly the first time I did it it was a little off and it did the same thing (idled high) make sure the lil spring is in there right

how do i go about doing that?? i put it back on right.. i just ubolted it i didn't take the iacv apart it self.. i just sprayed the carb cleaner into the little holes and up the nipple pipe where the vaccum hose goes on to.
